Oppo has revealed the design and release date of its Reno 16 smartphone series, with pre-orders having commenced nearly three weeks ago. The company shared a video teaser showcasing the flagship model of the series in its entirety. This device has moved away from resembling the iPhone Pro models and now bears a stronger resemblance to the OnePlus Nord 6 lineup.
This generation of Reno 16 models introduces a distinctive design element: the ‘Heartbeat Star’ back cover, which Oppo describes as ‘the first device in the industry with a 3D floating planet effect’. Additionally, the back cover features ‘stars’, a trend seen in mid-range models this spring, such as the Honor 60 and Vivo S60 series. Details about the Reno 16 and 16 Pro specifications were previously revealed, with the official presentation confirmed for 25 May.
