Fairphone 6+ arrives soon

Last Updated: May 19, 2026

In the Google Mobile Services certified device database a new entry for the Fairphone 6+ (officially The Fairphone (Gen. 6+)) has appeared. No further details are listed beyond the model name.

Fairphone, which places a strong emphasis on repairability and durability, usually releases a fresh generation of phones roughly every two years. The only time the company broke this rhythm was in 2020 with an interim “+” model – the Fairphone 3+. Compared with the original Fairphone 3, the 3+ offered improved cameras and used interchangeable camera modules, meaning owners could simply buy the new lenses and upgrade their existing handset.

Whether the Fairphone 6+ will be a straightforward upgrade of the Fairphone 6 or something entirely different is still unclear; last year the interval between obtaining GMS certification and Fairphone’s public announcement was under three weeks. For reference, the Fairphone 6 is equipped with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, a 6.31-inch display at 2484 × 1116 resolution, a 50-megapixel primary camera together with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, stereo speakers and a 4 415 mAh battery.
