RedMagic’s Next Big Move: Gaming Tablet Launch Date Revealed

Last Updated: May 19, 2026

RedMagic introduced the Astra gaming tablet globally last June and is now on the verge of revealing its successor. We anticipate the new model will be called the Astra 2 worldwide, whilst in China, it will be known as the RedMagic Tablet 5 Pro. The original Astra was dubbed the Tablet 3 Pro, and the number 4 is being skipped due to tetraphobia.

Today, during the launch of the 11S Pro series, RedMagic began teasing the upcoming tablet with the image below. The brand has confirmed the tablet will be officially unveiled in June, marking almost exactly a year since the launch of its predecessor.

This is when RedMagic is launching its next gaming tablet

RedMagic has stated that the new tablet will feature ten cutting-edge technologies, although specific details have not yet been disclosed. We expect the brand to start revealing some specifications in the coming days and weeks.

In the meantime, we can refer back to a leak from March, which claimed the Astra 2 would have a screen with a 200Hz refresh rate, a similar size to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC at the helm, and a battery around 9,000 mAh. Compared to the original Astra, the chipset is upgraded, the battery is bigger, and the refresh rate is higher.
