Microsoft has unveiled updates to four of its laptop models today, including the Surface Pro 13-inch, the Surface Laptop 13-inch, the Surface Laptop 13.8-inch, and the Surface Laptop 15-inch. These latest devices are powered by the recently launched Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chips, though versions featuring Snapdragon X2 processors are expected to arrive later this year.
Surface Laptop
The most significant changes can be found in the 13.8-inch and 15-inch Surface Laptop models. These versions now offer new display choices, with some configurations including a privacy screen feature comparable to the one found on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
While the 15-inch model features a higher resolution, it continues to use LCD technology. Customers can expect OLED versions to become available in the coming months.
A further notable improvement for both the 13.8-inch and 15-inch Surface Laptops is the introduction of a new trackpad. This component now supports haptic feedback within Windows 11, providing subtle tactile responses when users interact with specific UI elements, such as when aligning objects or snapping an app window to the screen.
The mid-range 13-inch Surface Laptop has also received an upgrade. It is shipping with the new Intel chips and now includes an anti-reflective display option. This specific variant is priced at €1,385, but a more affordable version featuring 8GB of RAM and lacking Copilot+ capabilities is currently in development, with an expected price of €1,195.
Surface Pro
In contrast, the 13-inch Surface Pro only receives a minor specification boost through the inclusion of the new Core Ultra chips. Consequently, this model will not feature the new touchpad found on the Surface Laptop range.
Pricing for the flagship Surface Pro and the Surface Laptops starts at €1,795 for configurations with Intel Core Ultra 5 chips and 16GB of RAM. Microsoft has attributed these price increases to the rising costs of components.
It is important to note that these specific models are intended for business users. Commercial versions will likely be released alongside the OLED variants later this summer.
