Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Leak Reveals Dual 200MP Cameras in Flagship Setup

Rumors emerging from China suggest the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro Max could deliver a significant upgrade to its camera hardware. Reports indicate the flagship will feature a 200-megapixel main sensor built around a new generation 1/1.28-inch LOFIC unit. A second 200-megapixel sensor is expected to drive the periscope telephoto lens, offering 3x optical zoom through an f/2.4 aperture. This telephoto module is also predicted to support macro photography from a distance of approximately 15 centimeters.

This shift represents a major departure from the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, which currently relies on a dual 50-megapixel setup. The existing flagship pairs a 50-megapixel main shooter with a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto capable of 5x optical zoom. Under the rumored successor, the macro focusing distance would shrink considerably, dropping from 30 centimeters on the 17 Pro Max to roughly half that range.

Earlier leaks have pointed to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro SoC powering the device. The phone is expected to include a 6.9-inch flat LIPO OLED display. Additionally, Xiaomi appears poised to retain the rear display feature that distinguishes the Pro Max lineup, alongside improvements to the speakers and vibration motor.
