Rumours circulated last week that the unveiling of Xiaomi’s anticipated ‘people’s flagship’ series, the Redmi K100, might happen sooner than expected. This suggests that the design phase for these devices is nearing completion and approaching mass production. Consequently, it is no surprise that insider Digital Chat Station has obtained significant details about the specifications of the base model.
According to reports, the Redmi K100 will feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which was released last year. The device is equipped with a 6.59-inch display that boasts an ‘ultra-high’ refresh rate, likely around 144Hz, and includes an integrated ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The device is also claimed to have a robust waterproof rating on its body. Additionally, the Redmi K100 is said to sport a 200-MP main camera and a basic zoom module.
Early rumours indicated that Xiaomi has increased the battery capacity to approximately 8,500 mAh, and reintroduced a feature that had been absent from the K-series for some time.
