OnePlus is a bit late in deploying its update to Oxygen OS 11 (Android 11), its home interface. But the company says users will be served soon.
The latest software version of OnePlus, its Oxygen OS 11 overlay based on Android 11, is about to land on new smartphone models. It is currently available on the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8T series only.
Imminent public beta on OnePlus 7, 7T and Nord
On its forum, the manufacturer announces that it intends to accelerate the deployment of its update. During the second week of January 2021, the OnePlus North will be eligible for a beta build of Oxygen 11. The brand does not get wet and evokes a stable version “when it is ready”.
The next ones to be served will be the OnePlus 7 and 7T, with which OnePlus is having “data decryption” problems causing a delay in availability for the update, which should have arrived at the end of 2020. The manufacturer explains that after working with Qualcomm, a private beta has been launched. However, A public beta for these devices is planned soon.
Oxygen OS 11: OnePlus 6, 6T, Nord 10 5G and Nord 100 for later
OnePlus also confirms that the owners of a OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T, OnePlus Nord 10 5G and OnePlus Nord 100 will also be able to claim the Oxygen 11 update, but it will be necessary to be a little more patient. It must be said that the brand has broken with its strategy of releasing only a few smartphones each year and that it must now ensure software monitoring of a growing volume of devices.
Other smartphones will soon embark Oxygen 11 in turn since the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro should be launched during the month of March 2021 under this version of the interface. the latter will feature an AMOLED screen (120 Hz on the Pro), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC engraved in 5 nm and an ultra-fast 65W wired charging.
Android 11: Minor novelties
Remember that Android 11 brings its share of new features, but many of them affect the system itself more than functionality. For example, we find a unique permission system, secure storage, better keyboard animations, support for new formats for images or even improved latency.
Note, however, that OnePlus has revised its interface to make it more ergonomic and that the entire notification system has been redesigned. We never say no to these kinds of changes.
