Chinese smartphone manufacturers are ramping up their innovation efforts in anticipation of Apple’s upcoming product releases. The aim is to stay competitive and attract customers. This includes developing new accessories that will be magnetically attached to smartphones. Information about these accessories has been leaked by a source known as Digital Chat Station.
According to the source, multiple projects are in the works. These include useful devices that will attach to smartphones using magnets, with data transferred via PIN contacts located on the back cover, similar to smartwatches. Current plans include magnetic turbines, magnetic screens for the back panel, and magnetic camera lenses. Notably, the first two solutions are already in the evaluation phase for mass production, suggesting they could be released alongside Chinese smartphones this autumn.
