Sony Submits Trademark for New Game Titled ‘Break In’

Last Updated: May 22, 2026

PlayStation appears to be on the brink of revealing a new game called Break In. A recent trademark filing, uncovered by a user on ResetEra, hints at the title of an upcoming PlayStation game. The filing itself does not provide much detail, but there is speculation that this could be a rebrand for Fairgames, the troubled live-service game currently in development at Haven Studios. Fairgames is an online third-person shooter focused on planning and executing heists, making Break In a suitable name.

Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier joined in on the fun, posting a playful comment on ResetEra. He wrote, “Br€ak In,” playfully referencing Fairgames’ stylized title, Fairgame$. Despite the joke, Schreier’s comment sparked more speculation among fans about the new game. Fairgames’ development has been rocky, with reports indicating concerns during testing. The game has also seen key departures, including studio founder Jade Raymond and creative director Daniel Drapeau, which has raised questions since the team has yet to release a game.

Fairgames has faced increased scrutiny since its 2023 release. The live-service game genre has seen a shift in perception, partly due to the disastrous launch of Concord. Many are now worried that Fairgames could face a similar fate. This could explain why a rebrand or internal reboot might be in the works to change public perception.

The timing of the trademark filing is notable. PlayStation is set to host a State of Play event on 2 June. The event will also be screened as free events at Alamo Drafthouses across the U.S. The show is expected to last over an hour, providing ample time to showcase upcoming games. Given that it has been years since Fairgames was last seen, this could be the perfect opportunity to start promoting it again in preparation for a release. Even if Break In is not Fairgames, the timing of the trademark filing suggests it could be unveiled at this event.
