Fresh off Warhammer Skulls, it has been revealed that Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters is set to receive a sequel, this time focusing on the Deathwatch.
Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Deathwatch is being developed by Complex Games, the team behind the original, and will be published by Frontier. The game is set to release on both PC and console, though a specific release window has not yet been announced. The debut trailer can be found below.
In the Warhammer 40,000 universe, the Deathwatch are a special Space Marine Chapter known for their alien-fighting prowess. Unlike other Chapters, the Deathwatch are primarily composed of veteran Space Marines from various Chapters. As a result, most members wear the colours of their original Chapter on their right pauldron, while the left pauldron displays the distinctive Deathwatch colour.
The upcoming game introduces several notable changes and improvements. Notably, players can now include agents of the Inquisition and Astra Militarum in their squads. The enemy roster has also been expanded. While Daemonhunters featured the Grey Knights battling the Death Guard and Nurgle’s forces, Deathwatch will pit players against Tyranids, Orks, and the T’au.
The playable factions in Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Deathwatch are:
- Deathwatch
- Inquisition
- Astra Militarum
The enemy factions players will face include:
- Hivecult (Tyranids)
- Snakebite Clan (Orks)
- Vior’la Sept (T’au Empire)
The Chaos enemy list is as follows:
- Astra Militarum (Victorix)
- Cult Of The Endless Dawn
- Daemons of Tzeentch
This time around, players will have nine playable classes to choose from. New units, including the Redemptor Dreadnought, Scout Sentinel, and Leman Russ tank, have been added. Additionally, a new Skirmish mode offers fully customisable standalone battles, giving players total control over the battlefield.
Here’s the official blurb:
