Oppo is reportedly developing a new mid-range smartphone for its A-series lineup that could pack a massive 10,000 mAh battery. This information comes from a fresh tip shared by China’s Digital Chat Station. The device, which does not yet have an official name, is also expected to feature a large flat LTPS OLED display with a resolution described as “1.5K.”
The leaker did not reveal the specific chipset but noted that it will be manufactured on a 4nm process. Since this is an A-series phone, a premium system-on-chip is unlikely. Weibo users have suggested several possibilities, including the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, a chip from the Snapdragon 6 series, or potentially the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 or 7400. More leaks should eventually clarify which processor Oppo settles on.

Current details point to a plastic body and a starting price near CNY 2,000, which is roughly €275 at current exchange rates. This places the device firmly in the affordable segment, though the massive battery capacity stands out even against some recent heavy hitters. The Honor Win Turbo debuted earlier with a similarly rugged build and a 10,000 mAh cell, setting a high bar for the category. Oppo itself has been busy on other fronts with devices like the Reno16 series set for May 25.
While the focus is currently on battery life, the broader market continues to see innovations in power. For instance, the Honor Pad 20 recently launched featuring a 12.1-inch screen and a 10,100mAh battery, showing that large capacities are becoming common across different device types. Meanwhile, discussions continue around whether the Honor Power3 can smash smartphone battery records in the near future.
