Katsuhiro Harada, Tekken Director, Finally Travels To Waffle House

Last Updated: May 25, 2026

Katsuhiro Harada, the director behind the Tekken franchise, has finally managed to visit a Waffle House restaurant.

The gaming community is buzzing because enthusiasts have long requested a stage inspired by the round-the-clock diner within a Tekken title. Harada has never been entirely against the concept, though he noted trademark and rights issues as a potential hangup in 2024. Despite this openness, the proposal has stayed out of reach for a while.

Although Harada declared his departure from Bandai Namco late last year and unveiled VS Studio recently, the All-Star Special and hashbrowns clearly remained on his mind. Yesterday, he informed his X followers that he had finally stopped by Waffle House and purchased a menu.

I finally made it to WAFFLE HOUSE.

The staff are always friendly, and when I asked if they would sell me a menu, they sold me one for $5.
Next time, I’ll be back at 3 a.m. for fight time.

Harada confirmed his visit with a statement. He remarked, “I finally made it to WAFFLE HOUSE.” He added that “The staff are always friendly, and when I asked if they would sell me a menu, they sold me one for $5. Next time, I’ll be back at 3 a.m. for fight time.”

The mention of a late-night brawl originates from memes surrounding Waffle House for several years. Harada explored this topic more deeply in 2024, despite knowing little about the restaurant’s significance to social media users at the time. He now appears to be an expert on the matter, or at the very least, a fan.

The saga involving Katsuhiro Harada and Waffle House has continued for a significant period. It was natural for Tekken fans to respond to his breakfast update.

Harada does not currently hold the influence to include Waffle House in Tekken specifically, yet the legendary fighting game series is very much still kicking. It was announced just yesterday that Bandai Namco would soon add Baki’s Yujiro Hanma as a playable character in Tekken 8.
