Realme has expanded its 16 Series with the launch of the Realme 16T, bringing the total number of smartphones in the lineup to four.
The standout feature of the Realme 16T is its 8,000 mAh battery, which boasts a lifespan of 7 years and can provide 3 days of use on a single charge. The battery supports 45W charging and can double as a power bank, offering 15W reverse wired charging. Users will also benefit from all-scenario bypass charging.
Another highlight of the Realme 16T is its 50MP primary camera on the rear, accompanied by a 2MP monochrome unit. The primary camera utilises the Sony IMX852 sensor and is marketed by Realme as the “50MP Sony IMX852 AI Camera.” This is due to several AI-powered photography features, including AI Portrait Glow. This feature “intelligently analyzes the lighting around subjects and applies supplementary lighting effects to enhance subject brightness.”
There are four lighting effects available in AI Portrait Glow: Flash, Studio Light, Natural Light, and Rim Light.
The Realme 16T also includes LumaColor IMAGE tech for “True-to-Life Skin Tones” in photographs. The camera module on the back features Aura Flash and a selfie mirror, which is a common feature on many mobile phones. The back cover of the Realme 16T showcases the Gleaming Wings Design, but this is only available with the Aurora Green colorway.
On the front, the device sports a 6.8″ HD+ 144Hz LCD with a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. The display has a centered punch hole for the 16MP selfie camera, but the fingerprint scanner is embedded in the power button on the phone’s right side, not underneath the display.
Powering the Realme 16T is the Dimensity 6300 SoC, paired with up to 8GB RAM. The device runs Realme UI 7.0 out of the box, but Realme has not yet revealed how many years of software support it will receive.
Other features of the Realme 16T include a 5,300 mm² vapor chamber for cooling, MIL-STD-810H certification, and IP66, IP68, IP69, IP69K and IP69 Pro ratings. There’s also a microSD card slot for storage expansion by up to 2TB.
The Realme 16T is available in Aurora Green, Starlight Black, and the India-exclusive Starlight Red colorways. It comes in three memory options – 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB, priced at €2,999, €3,199, and €3,499, respectively.
