Prepaid AT&T customers face new charges from June

Last Updated: May 20, 2026

AT&T is introducing a new charge for its prepaid customers. The carrier will apply an “AT&T Administrative & Regulatory Cost Recovery Fee” of €2.63 per service payment.

This new fee will take effect on 22 June of this year. For more details on what this fee covers, follow the Source link below.

AT&T’s postpaid accounts already have an Administrative & Regulatory Cost Recovery Fee, which is €3.99 per line per month. This makes the prepaid fee cheaper. The postpaid fee was €3.49 per line until December last year, so AT&T customers are seeing increased fees across the board.

Both fees have the same description: they are meant to cover costs associated with connecting with other carriers, regulatory requirements, government fees, and more.

Back in October, when the postpaid fee increase was announced, an AT&T spokesperson told The Sun, “Like others in the industry, we regularly evaluate and adjust fees to help cover the costs associated with delivering and maintaining our wireless network. This adjustment allows us to continue investing in our network and technology in order to provide the high-quality service that our customers expect.”
