Joe and Anthony Russo have cleared up the mystery behind their vague color teaser, confirming it offers a first glimpse at a Doctor Doom logo. The reveal has sparked speculation that an Avengers: Doomsday trailer might drop within days.
The Russo Brothers, who directed this year’s Marvel Cinematic Universe team-up, sent fans into a frenzy after posting an image that showed nothing but green on Friday. With so few details to work from, online detectives attempted to connect the precise RGB color codes to possible dates or times linked to Avengers: Endgame. Now it turns out the image was a zoomed-in portion of the symbol for the fictional nation of Latveria (below).
Some initially speculated that the logo’s sharp, angular design might nod to Loki, but others quickly noted that this same emblem has appeared repeatedly as the symbol for the territory ruled by Victor von Doom. It has served not only as Latveria’s national mark but also as Doctor Doom’s personal insignia.
The directing pair also shared the reveal through their official channels, highlighting their upcoming appearance at SXSW London this week, making it plausible that Marvel could unveil an Avengers: Doomsday trailer, or at least fresh details, as early as tomorrow. Still, some fans remain committed to an earlier theory connected to the Latveria logo’s particular shade.
A segment of the fanbase has identified the specific hex code as #71826a, which they believe could signal an announcement coming July 18, 2026. That date carries no obvious meaning by itself, though it falls just days before Marvel Studios is scheduled to appear at San Diego Comic-Con 2026.
In truth, the swirl of theories about when an Avengers: Doomsday trailer will surface mostly demonstrates how eager fans have become for any scrap of news. The MCU project is overdue for an update, and with its theatrical release still locked in for December 18, 2026, an official trailer hopefully will not be far off.
Avengers: Doomsday is slated to hit theaters on December 18, 2026 and will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027. In the meantime, Joe Russo has already weighed in on spoiler concerns for this year’s film ahead of its debut. The Marvel universe continues to expand in unexpected ways, with recent developments ranging from Disney+ setting an X-Men ’97 Season 2 premiere date with a new trailer to Marvel reinventing the X-Men through darker storylines.
