Planet Zoo 2 Nears Release After YouTube Channel Update

Planet Zoo may not have an official sequel announcement yet, but someone updating the game’s YouTube channel has left little doubt that Planet Zoo 2 is on the way.

According to Eurogamer, a quick look at the series’ official YouTube channel shows the channel’s head and avatar image now end with a bold “2.” That change is more than just a clue, it’s practically a confirmation, even without an official statement from Frontier Developments.

This isn’t the first hint Frontier has dropped about a follow-up. Late last year, the studio celebrated Planet Zoo’s sixth anniversary with a trailer that already suggested a sequel was in development. Still, this YouTube change is the strongest signal yet that the next game isn’t just planned. It could arrive soon. Fans may get more details soon, especially as Summer Games Fest approaches. Major publishers often use these events to tease new content, similar to the Sony Sets June Date for State of Play, Wolverine and PS5 Games in the Mix.

Frontier Developments has not made a formal announcement about Planet Zoo 2, but the evidence points in one clear direction. For a game that already lets players build and manage their own zoos with a wide variety of animals, the sequel could bring even more depth and fresh features. The gaming industry often sees significant updates before major reveals. Recent examples include the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 gets surprise Purgation update; Patch 13 brings new PvE mission and extras. Some recent titles have seen massive engagement, such as when Cyberpunk 2077 preorders are ‘higher’ than any The Witcher Games.
