Widespread rumours indicate Apple intends to present only the high-end iPhone 18 Pro and a foldable iPhone Ultra this autumn. The standard iPhone 18, plus the 18e and Air 2, have been pushed to spring 2027. Digital Chat Station, a well-known informant, now reveals that a Chinese manufacturer plans to make a comparable move.
The report has not disclosed the name of the company considering this tactic. Xiaomi is viewed as the strongest possibility given weak sales of the base Xiaomi 17 compared to the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. If the theory holds, the Xiaomi 18 might arrive in spring with the Xiaomi 18 Max.
