Lava is expanding its Bold N2 lineup with a new 5G model that delivers meaningful upgrades over the 4G version launched in India this past February. The Bold N2 5G swaps in a Unisoc T8200 chipset and a notably larger battery, positioning it as a more capable option for buyers seeking next-gen connectivity.

Up front, the phone features a 6.75-inch LCD panel with HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. A waterdrop notch cutout at the top houses a 5MP selfie camera.

Under the hood, the Unisoc T8200 processor is built on a 6nm manufacturing process and pairs an octa-core CPU with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. Memory configurations include 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB of UFS 2.2 storage. While specific benchmark scores have not yet been released by the manufacturer, the chip is designed to handle everyday multitasking and 5G connectivity efficiently.

Battery capacity sees a significant jump from the 4G model. While the earlier handset settled for a 5,000mAh cell, the 5G variant packs a 6,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. That larger power reserve puts it in the same territory as some other recent budget-focused releases, including the Lava Shark 2, which also made headlines with its 6,000mAh battery and 120Hz display.

Photography duties fall to a 13MP main sensor housed within a square-shaped rear module. An auxiliary lens and LED flash sit alongside it. We have not yet conducted full camera sample quality tests or charging speed benchmarks, so real-world performance details will be available once the device is in the hands of reviewers.

Security comes via a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device also supports dual SIM cards, storage expansion through a microSD slot, and carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. Out of the box, it ships with Android 16. The operating system version and the specific IP64 rating are based on the official specifications provided by Lava, though detailed user experience reports are pending.

The Bold N2 5G tips the scales at 210g and measures 8.75mm in thickness. Wireless connectivity covers Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, 4G VoLTE, and 5G networks. A USB Type-C port handles wired connections. For those tracking the release timeline, the official launch date is now confirmed for later this month.

Lava has priced the phone at INR 12,999, which converts to roughly €125. Sales begin June 9 through Amazon India and select brick-and-mortar retailers. Color choices include Billionaire Blue and Regal Gold. This release comes as other manufacturers like HMD are also pushing devices with similar large batteries and 120Hz screens, such as the HMD Vibe 2 5G.
