Asus officially re-enters the tablet market with the newly announced Asus Pad, confirming rumors that surfaced in May. The move marks the company’s first tablet release in several years and signals a renewed focus on high-end mobile computing.
The Asus Pad sports a 12.2-inch dual-layer OLED screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio, 2,800 × 1,840-pixel resolution, 600 nits peak brightness and a 144 Hz refresh rate[source]. The high-refresh panel should deliver smooth scrolling and responsive touch for video, web browsing and gaming.

Under the hood, the device runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 8300 SoC, paired with 8 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. A microSD slot adds expandable storage, a feature also seen in the iQOO Pad 6 Pro[source]. This combination should provide strong multitasking performance for demanding apps.
The tablet is equipped with a 9,000 mAh battery that supports 45 W fast charging[source]. Audio is handled by a quad-speaker array with Dolby Atmos, and connectivity includes a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. The device ships with Android 16 and is expected to be a solid option for users seeking a powerful, feature-rich tablet.

Camera hardware includes a 13 MP rear sensor with LED flash and a 5 MP front-facing lens for video calls. Connectivity mirrors that of the OPPO Pad 6, offering Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for fast, reliable links.
The chassis combines a magnesium-alloy frame with a fiberglass rear panel, weighing 523 g and measuring just 6.5 mm in thickness. A similar premium build can be seen on the Honor Pad 20.

Pricing and launch dates have not been disclosed, but Asus says the Pad will support the Asus Pen 2.0 stylus and an optional Bluetooth keyboard, positioning it as a versatile tool for both productivity and entertainment. A protective case will be included in the box. For the full specifications, see the official Asus press release.
