High component costs have impacted the smartphone division at Xiaomi. During the opening quarter of 2026, the firm dispatched 33.8 million devices, representing a 19.2% fall against the same period in 2025. This marked the steepest reduction among the top five manufacturers worldwide. Nevertheless, Xiaomi held a sufficient advantage over Oppo, which ranked fourth with a 6.6% year-on-year drop, and vivo in fifth place with a 6.7% decline, to stay in third spot. Conversely, Samsung and Apple saw their shipments grow by 8.0% and 9.9% respectively compared to the previous year.

Looking at regional performance, Xiaomi holds the second position in Latin America. In Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, the brand sits at number three. It ranks fourth in India. Within its domestic market of China, the company secured third place with a 16% share of the market by the end of March.

During the prior quarter, Q4 2025, the company noted an increase in its Average Selling Price. That figure stood at CNY 1,211 at the time. It has since risen further to CNY 1,310, marking an 8% increase from the first quarter of last year.

In the wearables sector, Xiaomi holds a firm standing. It is ranked third globally for smart bands and second within China. The company also holds the number two position worldwide for TWS buds, as well as in China.

Despite this strength, the firm has slipped out of the top three tablet manufacturers globally. It currently occupies fifth place following a 13.6% decline in shipments. Meanwhile, Huawei surged by 28.6% to claim the third spot, while Lenovo rose 20.0% to take fourth place.

Overall, Xiaomi recorded a profit of CNY 6.1 billion for the first quarter of 2026 against revenue of CNY 99.1 billion. This represents a significant decrease of 43.1% compared to the CNY 10.7 billion profit reported for the first quarter of the previous year, which saw revenue reach CNY 111.3 billion.
