A recent report from Korea has revealed that Samsung Display has achieved a yield of over 90% for the OLED panels destined for the upcoming Apple MacBook Pro. Some processes have even reached a 95% yield.
The report also states that the panels will be ready for mass production and shipping to Apple’s assemblers as early as June. The estimated supply volume is around 2 million units.

Manufacturing OLED panels for laptops poses more challenges compared to smartphones. This is due to the larger surface area and the increased demands on brightness, lifespan, and uniformity.
Apple is anticipated to unveil the MacBook Ultra this year or next. Rumours suggest this model will feature an OLED touchscreen. On the other hand, the next-generation MacBook Pro is expected to receive an OLED panel but without touch functionality.
