When Can You Start Playing 007 First Light?

Last Updated: May 21, 2026

IO Interactive has revealed the precise moment players can begin their 007 First Light adventure. With the game set for release on 27th May, pre-ordering grants early access on the 26th. However, those hoping to dive in at midnight will need to wait. 007 First Light will launch globally, ensuring everyone starts at the same time.

The game will go live at 3 PM BST. For US players, this translates to 7 AM PDT or 10 AM EDT on the 26th or 27th, depending on pre-order status. This global launch means the usual trick of changing console regions to play early won’t work. In Australia, 007 First Light will be available from midnight AEST on the 27th or 28th, again, depending on pre-order.

Details on pre-loading 007 First Light are still pending. IO Interactive has not yet specified the download size, but fans are hoping for pre-load availability this weekend or on Monday to ensure readiness for launch.

For those considering a new console, the PS5 Pro is recommended for the best 007 First Light experience. The game will run at 60 FPS on the PS5 Pro, but a performance mode on base consoles will also offer 60 FPS. 007 First Light is anticipated to be a major release of 2026. In development since 2020, IO Interactive’s dedication is set to pay off. The game has received two positive previews, describing it as “feels like the fresh start that Bond fans deserve.” It remains to be seen if the full game will meet the high expectations, but if it does, it could be in the running for awards this year.
