A rumour has emerged suggesting that the Apple Watch Ultra 4 will undergo a complete redesign. This would mark the first time Apple has altered the design of its premium smartwatch since the original Apple Watch Ultra was launched in 2022. Unfortunately, no specifics about the Watch Ultra 4’s appearance have been revealed, so we can only anticipate a major change.
The device will also feature a “significant upgrade to sensing functions,” according to the same source. It remains unclear whether this means new sensors will be introduced, or if the Watch Ultra 4 will retain the same types of sensors as the Watch Ultra 3 but with improved performance and battery life.
Apple Watch Ultra 3
The enhancement to the sensor stack is expected to benefit Taiwan-Asia Semiconductor, Apple’s exclusive supplier of sensor components for the Apple Watch Ultra line. “With new products likely to trigger large-volume orders as early as July and outperforming the first half of the year during the traditional second-half peak season,” the report states.
This timeline suggests that the Apple Watch Ultra 4 will be unveiled alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, as well as the iPhone Ultra, in September. Apple is also expected to launch the AirPods Ultra and a MacBook Ultra at some point.
